Frequency and Relative Frequency

1. Frequency

The number of times an object, class, or number is present in the sample data

Example: What is the frequency of the number "5" in the following data set?

5, 9, 3, 4, 6, 3, 4, 56, 96, 52, 5, 3, 7, 5

2. Relative Frequency

Relative to the sample size, how much of the sample is made up of a specific object, class, or number. Mathematically found by: â€‹â€‹

Dividing the frequency by the sampe size

Example: What is the relative frequency of the number "5" in the following data set?
